I've been picking out a graphics card for a friend along with a power supply to give a boost to his build of his HP Envy 1400z.
-Sapphire 7770 Ghz Edition
-650w Ultra Power Supply (80+ Bronze)
My friend was replacing his old video card previously a Radeon 7450 and has swapped it in for the 7770. Every time the computer boots up it goes directly to a black screen. The power supply works for sure because he had tested it with the old graphics card and the computer had fully booted up. I know for sure that the slot on the motherboard is a true PCI-E x16 slot. He didnt uninstall the drivers for the old video card. But every time the old video card is in use the computer boots as normal but when 7770 is in it goes to a black screen. Should he install drivers for the new one and uninstall the old? Or disable onboard video of the cpu which is a FX-6100. Give me some more answers besides just installing or uninstalling the drivers.
