beginner needing help

<< I'm new to the stereo world and i want a sub and everything needed to
install. I drive a smaller SUV and i think i want a 10" sub i've heard
of a lot of the different brands but dont kno what i should put in. I
recently put in a panisonic deck in and i have the stock speakers (two
4" in the dash and two 5 by 7's in the back). My price range is around
$500. Got any suggestions on what sub and amp to buy?
