Considering this laptop for music recording -- opinions?

(Sorry, not getting the hang of adding links.)

I have Cakewalk Sonar 8.5.3, which uses hyperthreading. I'm going with Win 7 b/c it works great with my version of Sonar, and other discussions at Tom's suggest that for my purposes there's no real reason to prefer Professional over Home Premium.

Any thoughts? Any laptops available under $1000 that would better fit my needs?

I don't see any issues with that laptop. You can get something that has more space, better card and better CPU, that should still come under $1000.

Thanks. The trouble with that one (from my persp.) is that it's Win 8, which I don't want.

Thanks, I'm looking far and wide. Newegg seems the best site for my purposes. Any others worth checking?

Thanks, great tip. More expensive than Newegg, but better selection. Probable those two facts are related.
