I tried to install win98 on my new HD and after it installed and went to run for the first time .....I got a" windows protection error" and It told me to restart and well it kept doing it and then I reinstalled and got the same problem.... anythoughts?
The only thing I can think of is that I Partitioned 3 gigs for fat32 and then another 3 gigs in NTSF and then several more fat 32 partitions. the first two partitions are primary the rest after the NTSF partion are logical. Perhaps the NTSF needs to be first or something or maybe the first fat partition needs to be under 2 gigs?

It also could be some error with your other components, did you changed anything in your PC, is this the first thime that you installed an OS on that PC (or did you do it with another HD before).

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

Could be some kind of resource conflict between your hardware. Check if you have any IRQ conflicts, and what are you other components?
