I'd like to be able to play Skyrim on high settings with graphic mods, will this rig allow me to do that? Also, are all the pieces compatable? This is my first time building and I don't know much about computers.

Please feel free to make suggestions for change.

I would grab the sapphire 7870XT that is only $240 from newegg and better than any 7870
  2. I am able to play Skyrim at 1440x900 with near ultra settings smoothly on my older i7-950 and HD6870 system.

You will be fine. However, I think you should spring for a Black edition WD HD. It will help loading times.
  3. Alright, but other than that is everything compatable? I just don't want to order pieces that won't work together.
  4. the wd blues and seagate 7200.14's are actually faster than the wd blacks though the 500gb blue is slower than the 1+tb ones
the wd blue 1tb with 64mb cache is $75 I beleive (find it

yep that amazon one is the xt, it performs faster than any other 7870/7870ghz

    everything looks conpatible
  5. I read that the Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT that I linked to in amazon is the same thing as this:

Is that true? Because I'd preferably like to buy all my stuff from newegg.
  6. Its the same card but the powercolour uses a single fan while sapphire uses 2 fans and cools better so it's your choice

The powercolour cools just fine fyi
  7. +1 for the OP's psu choice
  8. Alright, looks like I'm getting the sapphire. Thanks for the help!
