Win 7 sm bus controller

Hello,
Ethernet / sm bus controllers are not installed in the newly Hp system i purchased, what do i do to correct this problems and be able to connect to other systems on the network

I find it hard to beleive that these aren't installed in a new system. Are they showing up with a yellow exclamation point next to them in the device manager? If not, then they are installed. HP machines also come with media builder that is used to create restore disks. You can use these to restore the system to factory, but you will lose your programs and have to reinstall them. Other than that, contact HP. Since you just purchased it, it's under warranty.

Try re-installing the chipset drivers and the LAN driver for the make and model of your computer from the official website.
