Im a straight up rookie with this and i need some help. I'm a pretty casual gamer and mainly just trying to get decent performance. Here's my plan, and i'm trying to keep it around 5-600

Processor: AMD FX-6300 Black Edition (Intel is out because of the prices)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme 3
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 650 1GB (anything around the 110 range compare to this?)
Memory: 8GB Corsair
PSU: Corsair 500W
HDD: 1TB WD Black

(I will toss in a cheap case, fans, and optical drive)

I have a few questions. 1) Is 500w enough if i'm going to overclock? (probably no more than 4.2) 2) Is the Black HDD that big of a jump from a standard blue? I was considering just going with an SSD but i'm trying to keep a budget, and buying both is kinda out of the question. Any advice or opinions that would make this build better would be great!

The WD blue is faster than the black WD. Thats what i have been reading on comments and forums if thats any help to u. Having a SSD for your OS and applications loadtimes will speed it up by lightyears, otherwise if speed is not really that important then u can just stick with HDD to save a lil bit of $ and u can always just buy 1 down the road if you want.

For your build, you can save some money by going for 4gb RAM instead of 8gb.

For your hard drive, get the cheaper one. The difference between black and blue will be barely noticeable for the common user.

Graphics card, I would recommend the radeon hd 7770, especially if you are overclocking.

500W will be enough for you to overclock.

the 650ti is on sale on new egg for about 20.00 more then the 650. also the 7850 is in the same price range too. some of them are giving you 75.00 in free games. your always better off buying a slightly larger power supply. it give you head room if you swap gpus. latter on.
