HD6950 gaming on 1360x768

Is this card overkill for gaming at that resolution I find that Civilization 5 and The Witcher 2 still stutter of course im playing with all the eye candy turned up. ubersampling on witcher. Question is am i lagging because of the card or the rest of my system? AMD 1100t 8gb ram.

Ya, I would say its a bit overkill. but if you can get it at a good price. Then go for it. You may need to upgrade your monitor in the future!!!!

I got it for $125 thats a good deal in my opinion i have two hd5750s it replaced just trying to sell them for $100 bucks on cl. oh as for the monitor i use a 50in hdtv but its only 1080i so this is its native resolution.

125$ Thats cheap dude, also u might be lucky and got a 6950 thats unlockable to 6970s speed, but i know amd stop making the 6950s that where unlockable, who knows good job i would of jumped on a 6950 2gbs for 125

Also note if you have problem its probably since you playing at such low resolutions that you hitting CPU issues. You may acutally see better performance you were running at higher resolutions.

Nope. The CPU workload per frame does not increase at lower resolutions, at most it stays the same. It's just that the GPU workload per frame falls, so the frame rate rises until potentially the CPU becomes the limiting factor instead of the GPU.

i did buy it its already installed and it is a unlockable one its a reference saphire card 2gb i read its only 2-3% difference that hardly seems worth the effort to me. I thought it was a great deal dude was nice came with the box and all that.
