670 price drops after 700?

I have an HD4770 presently and I'm considering buying an EVGA GTX 670 ...but... with 800 coming in spring (?) I'm wondering how much the 670's price is likely to drop after 700 comes online.

I'm not a perpetual "tech waiter" but I'm debating if it's worth a 3 month wait for a new viddy.

No, I guess I'm just ass-u-ming that it'll be April or so based on rumors...

I'm just curious what is the typical % price drop of the previous iteration once new one comes out.

I too am in the same boat as you debating whether to pull the trigger and buy a gtx 670 http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=72414&manufacture=PNY%20Technologies%20Inc&promoid=1368 or wait.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much, looking at the GTX500 series. Sometimes, previous-gen models will stick around in stocks and keep dropping in price, but often it's not the case. The GTX570 and GTX580 have dropped a little since GTX600 launch, but they're still nowhere near where they should be priced relative to the GTX660. If you want a GTX670, I'd just grab one as soon as you see a good price on it. Best reason to wait for GTX700 is if you want something faster.

I really hope not... I'm looking for games I can max on an old 1GB 4870 to keep me going until the new serieses are launched!
