Ok, long story short:
Visually impared- need high brightness, contrast good too
17" is a must
LCD is a must- CRTs will only fit on my desk where the monitor stand is, and that's too far away, LCDs will go right where I want them, and won't injure me using them.

I'm looking that this:

NEC MultiSync 1760NXBK-1 17" LCD Black Monitor - Retail
17" Diagonal Viewable
Pixel Pitch : 0.264mm
Response Time: 16ms Typical
Max. Colors : 16.7million
Max Resolution : 1280x1024
Contrast Ratio : 450:1
Brightness : 260 cd/m2
Viewing Angle: Left/Right: 80°, Up/Down: 80°
Input Terminal : 15-pin mini D-SUB and DVI-D

At newegg for $469

I will be doing a lot of web brwosing standard office apps, some games (None are really FPS).

So, any suggestions? Or is this good? I'd prefer something I can get at newegg since I've had a lot of good dealings with them, but if need-be I can get the monitor elsewhere.

nVidia didn't make me an nVidia fanboy, ATi, and lack of other serious competition made me an nVidia fanboy.
Edited by jimstapleton on 09/16/03 11:50 AM.
