Mega-Overheating?

My Specs are Intel i3-3220 | Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT | 8 GB HyperX Blu Red | MSI Z77A-G41 | Raidmax Hybrid 2 | 1 TB Western Digital HDD |

Every temp test I do registers my GPU at 242c. Is this a glitch? I can't even play older games without some lag on low. Anyone have some insight?
