My uncle is... i just got to decide what parts I'm getting.I already have a gpu which is a sapphire hd 6770, and i want to try to crossfire it (double it). but if you can find a gpu from $50-160 that is better i'll take it. my computer has to be less than $700 or 600, if you want to update my list.

crossfire 6770s isn't worth it. It will still be not as good as a mid range current GPU.

    Get an hd 7850 or a gtx660

Get a more recent CPU and motherboard. Yours are almost 2 years old.
    Get the i5 3570k and a z77 motherboard

For gaming, I would get an i5 3470 and an h77 motherboard. It will be cheaper and you won't need the cooling stuff because you cannot overclock.

This will give you more money to get a better GPU. This is the most important part of a gaming rig by far.
is this the motherboard you mean? whats the difference between mini and regular sized?
  3. You picked a mini-ITX board. You do not want that. There are regular h77 motherboards. They are cheaper than z77 motherboard. Z77 boards are only for overclocking. If you aren't overclocking, which you won't be with an i5 3470, you only need an h77 board.
  4. Could you link me to an h77 motherboard? I'm unsure
  5. I'm still not conviced to get the h77 motherboard, the reviews claim DOA and it being flimsy,

Is there a mobo a little higher priced (around $120) that has good reviews?
i think this one looks great :

also, the gpu you listed were too expensive for me, any reccomendation for a lower priced gpu?
  6. Don't waste money on a motherboard. The one you listed isn't even for intel CPU's its for the AMD FX series. Just because some people got a DOA doesn't mean you will. Get a $70-$80 motherboard and get a better GPU

The GPU is what you want to focus on most here. Gaming experience is all based on the GPU.
  7. thank you for replying,
i was thinking about getting this EVGA 01G-P4-3650-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

ASUS F2A85-V PRO FM2 AMD A85X (Hudson D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
    is this compatible
  8. No, that motherboard isn't compatible. You need an LGA1155 socket board.

That GPU is alright. Slightly better than an hd7770. Should see medium/ some high settings. I would really go for an hd7850 if you can swing it.
  9. ASUS P8H77-V LE LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

I have a habit of using asus's motherboards because i like their products, but i think this would do with the

    EVGA 01G-P4-3650-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

  10. It'll work fine. The 650ti isn't as good as a 7850 but will be good for med/ maybe some high settings in modern games.
