also what is a better system to run games on, AMD or Intel?

Look into CPU first, then GPU, then motherboard. AMD vs. Intel is budget dependent right now. AMD has the FX-6300 at a nice price right now, while Intel has the i5 3570k at $220. AMD also has the nicely priced FX-8320 at $170. It really depends on your budget.

It is all based on budget find a firm number that you would be willing to pay, then give us an update... Unless this is for a school assignment or something, then you would base a computer off the CPU and GPU like beast said.

at the moment i have about 1k to spend on a computer, im also going to slowly buy each part with my paychecks. so unless its like $500+ a part then ill have a problem ha. i heard that the FX series is great, would the FX-8320 be better then the i5 3570k?

The 8320 and 3570k is a $60 difference on Newegg right now. The only games that I have seen the 8320/8350 beat the 3570k is Crysis 3, Deus Ex: HR, and Street Fighter (The new one). The 8320 obviously beats the 3570k in heavily multi threaded tasks, so it ultimately depends on what you want. For a machine that is just used for gaming, I'd say go for the 3570k, for some video processing, or other applications of that style, the 8320 is the best bang for your buck right now. Also take into consideration that the 1155 socket is dead, while AM3+ will get Steamroller.

alright, thank you. ill go for the 8320, i can always upgrade later. but im tempted to get the 3570k because i want to be able to run games like tera, WOW, and elderscrollsonline at high-if not max settings, but that also depends on my GPU.

I think online games us a lot of threads, at least BF3 does, not sure about Wow and all. You could look around at some benchmarks to check em out.

Also Tek Syndicate has a video where he highly supports the 8350 over the 3570k, I cant link it right now, but he does some great tests.
