Well... what are you expecting from gaming at that resolution? Nothing can handle maxed out settings at that res.

At minimum you should be looking at 680 SLI/690 or 7970 CF/7990

I'm curious about running 3 monitors at those resolutions but not for gaming. I want to be able to see a lot of stock-chart data all at once.

Some data streams in with multiple colors very quickly moving down the screen, and some charts are constantly re-drawn in real time as trades take place. Flashing colors are common, as are rapidly changing displayed numeric values. All in though, this would not be nearly as intensive as high-res, high frame rate gaming IMO.

Does anyone know of a more affordable single (or even more than 1 card if more than 1 would do it) card that can run 3 monitors (or even 4!) at 2560 x 1440 each?

Thanks very much!

Get the Sapphire HD 7970 Flex Edition......these cards are designed for multi monitors specifically.
you wont need anything better.

Good luck
