Hello All,
My current Rig:
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB 3;
AMD 965 BE;
CM Hyper212EVO;
GSkill Ripjaws X - 2x2GB PC312800 CL7, 1.5V, Running at 1333 or 1440 MHz; (depending on OC) (MB wants to use a CL9 timing)
WD 1 TB HDD;
Windows 7 64 HP;
Notes:
1) This system has killed 2 EVGA 460 SC EE - Suspect overheating. Wanting on replacement.
2) This system ran fine for over a year OCed to 3.647 until the last few months on the base Heatsink. It would overheat and shut down. Had an issue with ASUS's modes. It wanted to keep the High Performance mode, while I had to put in Max Power savings Mode. I also had tried to downtune to 3.0 GHz, but Power Savings Mode was best solution.
3) Just bought CMHyper212EVO... Works very well. OCed at 3.647 and says cool. At 3.4, Bios reads ~36*C w/~650 fan speed.
4) I also bought some Crucial Ballistix 2-4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 CL9, 1.5V; Doesn't play well with GSkill.
With the cause of the overheating dealt with.... Windows keeps crashing to a quiet Black screen. I have run both sets of memory with the same results. After about 5 minutes, the screen just quietly turns black. Tested with Media player running, computer just shuts off. I have to hit the power button to reboot. I switched the computer to Windows Safe Mode w/Networking. It worked for about 8 hours until it finally crashed.
Some things I have tried:
1) Windows Memory Test
2) Switching Memory
Another weird thing - Updated and ran Malware Bytes. (quick, no issue) However, I ran into issues with Ad-aware. Ran quick scan, no issues. But I then tried to update it, and it said it installed. However, the scan button is disabled and the definition update still shows an earlier update. When I reboot, I can again with older definition file.
So, I'm at a loss. Any Suggestions?
Edit: CPUZ Hardware monitor no longer reports Core Temps after new Heatsink. All show 0*C
