Hello everyone! I'm piecing together a gaming system for my wife and I to enjoy at ~$1000 and this is what I've come up with:

Video Card - PowerColor 7870LE - $239.99

Case - Fractal Design R4 (Black) - $109.99

SSD - OCZ 128GB Vertex 4 Series - $109.99

HDD - WD Blue 1GB - $73.52

MB - ASRock Z77 Extreme4 - $124.99

CPU - i5 3570K - $233.79

RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB - $67.95

PSU - Corsair TX 650W - $88.34

Monitor - ASUS VS239H-P 23-Inch LED IPS Monitor - $169.99

If you guys have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know! Thank you.

The Vertex 4 is a good drive but on your budget I'd drop it and upgrade to a GTX 660TI or Radeon 7950. You can always add one in later. Otherwise everything else looks good. Add a Hyper 212 Evo so you can overclock your 3570K

the 7870le is a slightly neutered 7950. great bang for the buck and near the same performance as a 7950 and about equal to a 660ti.

I know the XT is, is the LE the same thing or different?

If you get a slightly cheaper case like the HAF 912 and omit the SSD, you will have saved enough that you could change your video card to the 7970 which is, debatably, the best GPU out there besides the $900 690 or Titan. Everything else looks good except your spending too much on RAM. You should try to get RAM cheap because the performance difference between different brands and speed of RAM is negligible.

The Titan is 1 x GK110 GPU. The 690 is 2 x GK109 GPUs. 2 x GTX 670 is really close to the same performance as a GTX 690 within a couple of FPS. The 7970 is a great card don't get me wrong. But on a $1K budget I wouldn't try to cut corners just to get something that didn't make sense to the rest of the build.

True, especially if the budget is $1K.

But the point I was trying to make is that if you want 690 performance there's ways around paying $1K for those particular GPUs, which most people would not spend that kind of cash on.
