Hey Guys,

I just set up Crossfire with 2 6950 2gb and it seems that a single video card runs better then 2 on ultra settings. Now i have a feeling it could be 1 of 2 things. First is the game settings, does anyone have any idea what the game settings should be? 2nd thing is the power supply. Right now i have a 700w cougar power supply. Is that not enough power? Should I un-overclock my cpu so not at much power draw?

Thanks in advanced

I had an issue with crossfire 7870's and Far Cry 3. Running the game in DX9 mode made the game work smoothly. Give that a try.

So i gave it a shot and seems like the FPS increased but it still seems unsmooth. What are your other settings? Heres a screenshot of mine.

I tried with Vsync off too

Those are my settings and I'm running smoothly. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you how any of them effect the game because I have no idea!

I don't know if it's a crossfire problem or something else. when I installed and tried to run FC3 in all it's glory ( 1920x1200 ) I finally hit the wall with my Q9550/775. using an 1155 quad core and the same video card ( 6950 2gig ) that was no longer the case. you obviously have the better hardware.

that m4 all you have for drives? try firmware update.

No i also have a 1TB samsung 7200 dirve which the game is installed on. I will check the drivers on everything and try the settings specified. If you think of anything else let me know because its annoying the game i got 2 video cards for doesnt work.

Im surprised noone said its a power supply issue. I thought 700 is low for crossfire.

Hmm, if you are overclocking your cpu and both 6950's 700w from a manufacturer that you do not know IF they are actually giving that amount is probably not enough.

Never heard of cougar...

Can you borrow a 750w power supply and test it?

if you ever get if figured out let me know.... LOL........

if it's enabled in the CCC, and you have the bridge on the first xfire slots on the card,( closest to the back of the case)..... I don't know.......... and you're only using 1 bridge, correct?

does the game work cross fired? not something I remember looking into.

Im sorry the last sentence is a little unclear. Are you having problems with the game in crossfire? because we have close to the same setup.

yes if i switch off crossfire it runs smoothly on ultra settings, but if i swich crossfire on well then only low settings are playable and not so smooth as ultra without crossfire.

I hope a new video driver will help, for now i switched off crossfire because wanted to play like it is meant to.

Thankfully i finished the game today. But i also got my 950W psu and it seems that it helped a little actually then randomly it went to 30FPS. That game is so weird.
