if one is better than the other, what makes it so? which parts? and how much more is it worth?

Sorry if it seems like a silly question but I am considering a trade and am not computer savy

What are your planned uses for the computer? That will have much to do with a recommendation as to which is best - not seeing what I would call a lot of difference. There are differences though so your usage may dictate which is better for you.

Yeah, ones a laptop and the other is a desktop, can't really compare them

Mostly Music Production, surfing online, watching videos.

I have the laptop I wanted a computer because it is more upgradable.
