In the future can I just build another 3930k rig and use both my rigs to run a VM to game on?

I have limited knowledge of this kind of stuff and I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, if it's possible, do both PC's have to have the same parts, or what?

Not really. Games don't work well over VM, as their is latency, graphics don't transfer over, etc.
