I'm planning on building my first computer soon. My budget is $1200, but spending less is always nice. I have an ITX build configured right now. I am planning on using a Bitfenix Prodigy. It has a lot of customizability, and good possibilty for water cooling in the future. These are my parts at this moment:

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI: http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-1155...TF8&colid=3O538ANZQ93II&coliid=I33ALPLUWZ41BF

GPU: EVGA GTX 670 2GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782

Case: BitFenix Prodigy Orange: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811345021

RAM: G. Skill Sniper RAM 16GB (8GBx2): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231609

CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO: http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master...TF8&colid=3O538ANZQ93II&coliid=I2QHWO5C3KA2VD

PSU: Silverstone ST65F-G 650W: http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-S...TF8&colid=3O538ANZQ93II&coliid=I2BRY9KJWOWJW5

If this is for just mainly gaming, get the i5-3570k and 8GB of ram, since the ht of the i7 won't benefit in gaming and games don't use more than 8GB of ram.
That psu is overkill, a quality one with 500-550W will do, you can get a seasonic modular unit for less : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119

You can find the case cheaper here : http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=76992&promoid=1302 (it's red, you can find other colors for 10$ more on the same page)
Ram : http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=74758&promoid=1321 or if you're into editing : http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=78420&promoid=1026
