New build issue

Hello,
I've recently finished my first build and ran into a problem. My computer randomly turns on throughout the day from off. The easiest solution would be to un-plug it when not in use, but that would get annoying quickly. Any advice?


I'm running Windows 7 pro 64 bit on the following build:

Mobo: Asus P8z77V-Pro
Processor: Intel i5 3570k
Ram: 2x 4gb Patriot Viper 3
PSU: Seasonic X750
GPU: XFX Double D Radeon HD 7970

turns on from turned off , or turns on from being asleep ?

If it turns on from being turned off you have an infestation of demons and should call your priest

If it wakes from sleep you can check your update settings which might wake it , your network settings which might wake it and scheduled tasks which might wake it

i had that issue with my sabertooth...it a bios bug make sure you have the newest bios and then check if you tap on the keyboard or move the mouse when the system is off...if the system turns on again...try draining the mb power from the wall and clearing the cmos. the issue i had was the bios bug the mb was going into sleep not power off mode with windows 8 any time i taped the computer table the system would turn on.
