Hey guys, Building a gaming rig for the first time. Nothing too fancy.

I currently have.

Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz

I was looking at a couple of graphics cards within my price range and I came accross

Gainsward geforce gtx 650 ti 2gb and the Radeon HD 7850 2gb.

What one would be better?

Thankyou, Sqoh.

the 7850 is the better choice unless you prefer PhysX (which in my opinion is not that great, as is only available in a handful of games)
for pure performance, FPS in games, the 7850 is the way to go.

just check the benches on Toms, and you will see.

Xttony is off the mark there.

7850 weak for gaming!!!! maybe above 1080p with all the bells on whistles on. but for most gamers it would be very sufficient, and is a great overclocker too.

660 is also a reasonable card. but out of the two you mentioned the 7850 is a decent performing card that will play the likes of BF3 on high/ultra, along with your system you would get very nice frame rates.

I can vouch for the 7850, especially if you're willing to OC. That thing OCs like a beast! IMO, it's much better than the 650 Ti (with OCing).
