Do you think it's a good idea to workout abs everyday or whenever you're at the gym working out, always incorporate abs?

haha finally something on this site I can answer confidently.

i use a bodybuilding approach, therefore no matter what your goal is, the frequency of doing abs is always the same. i'd say about 3-4 times a week. i honestly go 3--Sun, Tues, Thurs with Higher Weight, Hi-Reps, Hi-Reps, respectively.

you don't really wanna do the everyday thing because although it's a fast recovering muscle, you still want to give it that one day with heavier weight as you would do any other body part. and by doing your last workout on thurs, you have more time to recover for the next cycle.

do less sets and reps on a weight day and more with less rest on a high day. never rest less than 30-45 seconds and no more than 3 minutes on a heavy day.

again, this is my opinion after 7 years of bodybuilding experience and research and a couple competitions under my belt.

if you're just an average, frequent gym-goer i guess you could do something like every other day without a set day. but you should use something like p90's ab-ripper x so you know you get a quality workout.

hope that helped. lmk if you need anymore help. go to bodybuilding.com if you want more. forerunner in anything body. i was glued to that for those 7 years all night long, just like i'm glued to here now that my back got thrown out.

oh and btw, you should think about splitting some of your workouts into upper/middle/lower parts so you can target the muscles easier. (eg. upper crunches, situps, reverse crunches on decline) once i started splitting them, i really got my seperation defined.

Think Djayarr gave a pretty solid answer. But word around says you should at least give your abs a days rest. For me, if I did minimal on my abs one day, I will do another workout on my abs the next and then skip the next day.

You should never work any part of your body every day, including your abs. Do them every other day, and you should be good.

If you get abs through the appropriate way and right food than it can be understand completely.
People who get them through products and they get it disappeared after a while that is the thing which doesn't really make sense and can cause side effects.
