So, I have a pc that goes through a boot loop at the windows loading screen. I have windows 7 loaded on the drive and it is functional in a different tower. It's an msi 7312 motherboard. I ran the windows memory diagnostic in advanced and the pc reset around 93% (it hadn't shown any errors yet). i am able to run puppy linux from the dvd drive. I can't boot from a usb stick to try to flash the bios (is that what i should even do?) any help at all would be awesome! thanks

You can't swap windows 7 around like a linux flash drive. Windows will only boot from the motherboard it was installed with. It works on the other tower because it sees the motherboard, but on the computer with the MSI 7312 it doesn't recognize that board and will keep rebooting until it sees the other motherboard...reinstalling windows on that PC will fix the problem but then it won't work on the other computer.

1) are your drivers updated?

2) Try updating your bios
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/308518-30-update-bios
3) How old is this build?

4) Could it be over heating?

5) try running a GPU and CPU stress tester(use seperately) and monitor temps with gpu-z(for graphics card temp) and core temp(for cpu)
GPU

CPU

GPU-Z

Coretemp

5) Could your ram be having issues? run memtest
http://www.memtest.org/

6) Check your hard driver/SSD
-Start menu
-Computer
-Right click main disk(for me it is C
-Properties
-Tools
-Error checker

7) Run burnintest
http://www.passmark.com/download/bit_download.htm

8) After it crashes run who crashed

hope this helps :D
