I am trying to build a gaming desktop. Not too familiar with what parts will work with each other but here is a list of the parts I am thinking of buying.

Silverstone RV03B-W (case)
Corsair TX950 CMPSU-950TX (PSU)
Intel Core i7-3770k (CPU)
ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe (mobo)
Crucial CT256M455D1 (SSD)
PowerColor AX7990 6GBD5-2DHJ Radeon HD 7990 (Graphics card)

I need to know if these are compatible with each other before I start buying. Please tell me what else I need to setup the desktop. Thanks

Really don't recommend getting a 7990 if you're only on a single monitor.

Yeah completely agree. Plus that 7990 isn't a real 7990 - it's actually more like two 7950s on the same card. You also don't need 950W either.

Here's what I would suggest:

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($32.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($144.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($55.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: OCZ Vector Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($148.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card ($445.91 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Titanium Grey) ATX Mid Tower Case ($144.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($145.98 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224BB DVD/CD Writer ($15.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1545.79

Thanks for all the suggestions.
The main games that I will be playing are star craft 2, league of legends, skyrim.
Ultimately. I want the option to have a 2nd monitor so my younger siblings can watch their movies too so I can play my games at the same time. I don't want my game to be affected if I'm playing a movie on the other screen.

Whether or not you go for SLI really depends on how many monitors you use and what the resolution is. If you're only using a single monitor you can get by with one GPU.
