Custom PC shuts itself off

Hi all! I just built my first PC from scratch almost a week ago. It ran without an issue for a couple days after I got it up and running. Now it shuts itself off and won’t turn back on unless I unplug the power cable for a few seconds. The time it takes to shut off decreases each time it gets running again – it starts around 30 minutes for the first time.
I reinstalled everything except for the CPU (and heatsink) and double checked the connections. Everything registers in the BIOS the way it should. The voltage looks good from the BIOS but the 12V rail is reading just over 8V from hwmonitor (haven’t verified with voltmeter). Temps don’t exceed 36C on anything.

I suspect that the PSU is to blame, but I wanted to ask you folks first. Any ideas?

Specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: Zotac GeForce GT 620 1GB
PSU: Thermaltake TR-600 (600W)
RAM: Ballistix (Crucial) 2x4GB DDR3-1333
Case: Raidmax Viper (white)
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
HDD: Toshiba 1TB
(Optical drive)

replace that power supply son before it burns out your gaming rig!!! anything below 11.5v is below the atx standard for voltage output.

I replaced my psu with a Corsair CX600 around a week ago and so far no problems.

Thanks guys! I'll be back when the problem is. *crosses fingers*
