Onkyo Rear Channel Low Volume

Rear channel problem

I have a HT-R510 Onkyo refurbish 6.1 100 watt amp that needs a better
setup for rear channel. Front & rear speakers are the same "Monitor
Audio B2". The fronts blow the rear speakers in vol. Why?
"Test Tone" front and rear differs by only 4 db, but when playing
music,dvd, or satellite i set front -12 db & rear +12 db, rears still
sound quieter.
Swapped rear to front speaker cables @ amp, now rears louder, fronts
quieter. Appears to be a setup or defect with rear channel.
Any suggetions?

This sounds like a speaker efficiency problem, and not the amp's problem.
The proper test is to use an audio generator, and scope to see if the amp is
actually performing, if you want to check the amp.

Take the amp to their authorized service to have it properly checked, if you
are still not sure.
