  1. Sorry for not a helpful post, but are those cards GHz ed or? And what seasonic PSU are you using?
    Because I want to buy dual MSI Lightning, and I was looking at Seasonic 850AM psu, so I was wondering how does it handle them?
    I will also do a bit oc, maybe to 1200MHz, but just wanted to make sure psu runs them fine at stock?
  2. You will have to get at least 4.2 GHz on that CPU if you really want to alleviate any bottleneck at all. I would have suggested you stick to one card or get the higher processor to easy the headaches.

    MSI lightning are being discontinued atm, not very many in stock. Your best bet will be to go and grab a Sapphire Dual-X HD 7970 and OC them. So far they're the only cards that don't have voltage locked.
  4. The FX 8150 is an older gen processor and runs quite hot even compared to the FX 8350 that replaced it .

    But neither is ideal for a top end crossfire system
    This is the one situation where an intel 3570K build has a real advantage over the AMD

    If you are building with AMD then use the 8350
  5. get a new CPu. the 8150 is pretty bad. id suggest a 8320 and overclock it to 8350 levels. if you have not bought everything, id even suggest getting a i5 3570k instead

    get these video cards

    @vid nikolic
    850W is pretty sufficient for 2 lightnings whatever overclock you're gonna do but do not stress the GPUs with Furmark, Seasonic models are all pretty good.
  7. i already have got this PC built but it lags when i game with both video cards running i want to know whats the best clock setting for me to be able to use both cards is it even possible and what about my colling system will it handle it???

    thanks.
  8. Overclock as high as you can, and try to keep the load temp under 60c.
  9. id say overclock as high as you can and keep the temps below 75c. the odds are that fx can easily produce 65c+ temps

    you shouldnt be turning up the AA alot as well. after 4x aa there isnt any real benefit
