ram

hard drive

case

the 7950 is a better value overall given it performs about the same as the 670, comes with 2 games, and is almost 100 dollars cheaper. id tell him about the 7950 first before jumping straight into a 670 purchase

Sorry I was typing this up fast. Anyways that still leaves a psu that we need and the case he is picking out, he wants somthing big with a window in it. I have built with amd gpu before and had some problems with drivers, is amd still having problems with that?

Not really unless you plan on running dual cards.

PSU and case - that depends on what you want to spend. There's good ones from Antec and Corsair with windows for ~$120.

And then power supply is one of the most critical components you can buy. You definitely want to make sure you get a good one.

He may want to do sli as the rig gets abit older. Whats a good psu for less then $120? Since we may do sli you think about 750w psu?

You might want to consider the Samsung 840 PRO....much better SSD....

For hard drives - a 1TB or 2TB Western Digital Black Drives are the ones I always use - a few bucks more - but worth every penny for reliability/performance.

PSU - I am a big fan of Corsair, but Seasonic/Antec work well also:

I love the top statement for a couple reasons.

He forgets a couple of these such as won't and forgets to capitalize every sentence. There are also no complete sentences within his statements. Also a lack of periods is quite frustrating.

Those are good choices. I really like Seasonic and PC Power & Cooling - especially the Silencer MKIII series.

amd has most of their problems fixed out. the only problems that some people face is multi-monitor and micro stuttering (to a certain degree on cf)

i provided a good psu for the build. might want to read it

my case is avaliable with a window. here it is
