Is 650watts enough?

i5 2500k 4.6ghz
h100i
sapphire 6870
60gb corsair ssd
120gb corsair ssd
500gb HDD
Corsair 650tx PSU

My question is that recently my 6870 has been lacking.... So i thought i would revitalise my build with a stronger graphics card and have been looking at the ASUS HD 7970 Direct CU II, however will my PSU be able to handle this? with my current set up of course.

Thanks

More about 650watts enough
  1. That should handle a single 7970 just fine, but of you ever add a second you'll need a bigger PSU.
  2. It should be fine.
  3. 650 watts Corsair PSU is able to handle a 7970 GPU no problem...
  4. the PSU you have is a decent one it should be fine. the 7970 only needs a 500W for a one card set up so you are safe.

  5. HD 7970 only needs a recommended 550w power supply so you are fine.
