Having issues with new 7870

I recently bought an msi 7870 Twin Frozr and am having some issues with it. Whenever I play games on it, it will randomly decide to crash and the screen will go berserk. Usually the game crashes after that and this is what it looks like when I try to watch videos; opening games is impossible after the crash.

Is this a driver issue or hardware issue? I have tried both 12.10 and 12.11 catalyst, same issue. I have tried underclocking the gpu as well but that doesn't seem to have any effect on stopping this problem either.

Maybe psu? This is my current psu:

Probably not the psu. It's good enough.

If you're using a sandy or ivy bridge cpu, disable lucid virtu (if you have) as it can create artifacts in games as well.

I suggest you uninstall ccc and reinstall again. This is a guide on how to properly uninstall AMD Radeon drivers http://www.overclock.net/t/988215/how-to-properly-unins...

Using Phenom II x4 965 3.8ghz (have tried at stock settings, still crashing)

Already used that exact same guide multiple times going back and forth between 12.10 and 12.11beta11.

Can you try the card on some other proper PC?

It could be a faulty card. I suggest you RMA it, but first try it elsewhere
