I would spend less on the mb since any board with a 990FX chipset will perform identically , and less on the case .

You will only need [ at most] a 650 watt psu . The corsair TX 650 for around $90 will be better quality than the cm too

Use the money you save to fit an SSD into your budget
and maybe a 7970 as well

yes im new to overclocking but did plan on trying just a little and figured that big case with all of the fan options it had would keep my pc temps down alot...

There are big cases that cool poorly

I would use an Antec 300 TWO , for about $70

after that you pay for things that dont make any difference.

what games are you gonna play and at what resolution?

i currently will be playing bf3 wow and some others maybe. but i want to play bf3 with highest settings and fps that i can without spending too much more than i am atm. would the sabertooth 990fx be a good enough solution for me besides the v formula z? its 100 dollars cheaper and looks like i can do pretty much everything i need on it. or is the v formula that much more worth it?
