PCI slots

Hi i was wondering if i have a server board and it's got PCI-X 8 slots and i have a adapter for those slots i was wondering if the slot can handle a PCI-X 16 2.0 or 3.0 the adapter itself is made tp handle PCI-X 16 video cards could i use any of those cards on my server board?

There are no PCI-X 8 or 16 slots and no 2.0 / 3.0. It sounds like your board has PCI-E slots instead. Get us the exact model of the server board and we may be able to answer your question.

So the board has four PCI-E x8 slots. Because of the board layout, a PCI-e x16 card will only fit in the first slot. Because it is mechanically a x8 slot, the card may still not work. An other problem might be the bios, because not all server bioses expect an additional graphics card and so some don't initialize them.
