His motherboard isnt to bad if it comes bundled with windows 7, so you minus like 90 or so from that, and its around the right price.

Even with win 7 that mb is over priced

On the home page of toms is an article about the $600 gaming build
It would totally demolish your build

In the forum comments are a number of suggestions to replace the intel mb , cpu, and 7850 with

AMD FX 6300
Asreock 970 pro3
Radeon 7870

which costs the same amount and games even better

Both are around $600 without the operating system , and both are astronomically better than using a 630GT

The motherboard is decent, as you can see it here :
You if you need a bit cheaper get the 7850 1GB : 159.99$(139.99$ after mir).
And if you want a standard atx mobo with the 970 chipset, i recommend this one :
^10% off with promo code, it's 85.5$.

Djangos build is good, but I would want a mb with a 970 series chip set , and would happily pay the extra $25 for that

Yes, there's the asus for 85.5$ in newegg with promo code, it's a good motherboard with the 970 chipset.
