6870 in CF with that CPU will only draw around 500. So the 650W will be fine. Problem is the 6870 needs two PCIe plugs, and most/many 650s only have two. So make sure you buy a good one that has four.

This ^ I was all set to say a 500 watt PSU was more than enough. If you have have thoughts of crossfire then do go with the 650 watt PSU but please pick a quality one. So many people build nice rigs like yours and cut corners on the thing that supplies power to them.

This is a very good list ranking PSU's(Tier 2 is what your likely interested in):

They also list review sites to check in this link which all are very good.

James, those PSUs won't work. As I said above he is in between PSUs with his planned build. 650W PSUs have the power, but not the plugs needed to do it. He needs to jump to a 750W PSU with the four 6pin PCIe plugs. (He could use adapters but I always suggest not doing that.) This PSU should work.

Thankfully its not expensive. He could use the new Gold rated 650W PSU, but probably cheaper to just get one of these. The XFX 750W will also work btw.

thanks for the choice, im going to buy it for £65! :D

That is a decent choice as well. I never really care about PCI-e plugs as most graphics cards come with molex to PCIe adapters and if not they are dirt cheap: http://www.amazon.co.uk/NEW-PCI-Express-Power-Adapter/dp/B000WOQSSC/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1362366019&sr=1-3
