hey,

I have the following system and i play games such as Crysis 2, Gears of war, Aliens Colonial, Battlefield 3, Medal of honor Warfighter, Far Cry 3 ETC. Some of the games i can play on 1920x1080 mixed settings med/high AA off, with 40FPS avg, but i think the system is becoming outdated as DX11 is becoming the norm as i found out after downloading crysis 3 beta and couldn't play because minimum was a DX11 card.

My Specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz @ 3.6Ghz

4GB Corsair Dominator GT 2133Mhz @ 1700Mhz

Asus M4A785TD-M EVO Motherboard

XFX GTS250 1GB Core Edition OC

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB

Corsair CX500 Power Supply 80+

Can anybody recommend me a good system upgrade from this maybe keep the same CPU and buy a better graphics card or a whole new system upgrade many thanks maybe intel route?

Hi has22fas!

How much would your budget be if for the new video card, and how much for the new system upgrade?

Check out the link on my signature, it has builds for different budgets.

Your CPU is good, not the best there is but quite good none the less. Motherboard is good with your CPU so you don't really need anything there either. You have enough RAM (you could consider upgrading to 8GB but not necessary) and the PSU is a good one. Your only real bottleneck is the Graphics card. I would suggest you look at getting a Radeon HD 7850, Radeon HD 7870 or Radeon HD 7870 LE. If you prefer Nvidia then GTX 660 or GTX 660ti. As already stated we need budget info. for better recomendations.

My budget Would be around £600 for new parts if need be prob $1000 (estimate)..

But i would prefer to spend less if i can get a good performance keeping my old Phenom II and maybe get a Crossfire motherboard with 2 ATI gpus if possible or should i get a Intel platform? i would keep the case and RAM and power supply and use £600 to go the intel path new motherboard, cpu, gpu.

Many thanks
