I've got this GPU, Asus GTX590, its about a year old, and i haven't had any issues with it.
But after my latest format, its begun to run VERY hot.
When i use the computer, its idling just fine, 37C or something like that.
But when i get up at the morning, and the computer has been running all night, the GPU is at 80C, and when i start using the computer, it drops after a few minutes to 40C again.
Why is it getting that high, when the computer isn't being used, its just idling at night.
Maybe you need to change your thermal paste, make sure that the heat sink is in proper contact with the gpu.
Can i do that without loosing warranty?
And, its only when its idling after some hours at night, not when i use the grafics..
Just had breakfast, turned off the screen and went to the couch, after 4 minutes, i could hear the fan(s) go nuts, and my NZXT lcd fan monitor shows 63C on the outside of the GPU, and CPUID HWMonitorPro shows 81C on the kernel.. And after i turned on the screen, 2 minutes and its down on 40C again..
Why does it goes nuts immediately after i turn off the screen, i wonder.
