GTX 295 and games not recognizing multi gpu.

Hi this is my first time posting here so if I did anything wrong just let me know. I am currently running and have been running a GTX 295 and I've noticed that in some games the second GPU is not being detected. In particular I just started playing Sleeping Dogs and while benchmarking it states I only have 873MB of VRAM as opposed to around 1700MB I should have. Does anyone here know what is wrong?

In SLI , both GPUs get the same data in both sets of memory so in reality you only have 873mb per GPU so that is correct.
