Hi, i need help upgrading my computer. I bought it in 2010. I am not a serious gamer but i do game often and i would like to upgrade my gpu.
My current specs are:
Amd athlon 635 x4 cores, at 2.9 ghz
8gb ram
250 watt power supply.
radeon 4200 (integrated graphics
1 tb hardrive
23 inch moniter
Not sure of the motherboard name but i know it has pci 2.0 slot

I am looking for a graphics card that can run the less demanding shooters(global agenda, tribes ascend, far cry) and mmos as well as mobas.
I dont care for "max graphics" , however i would like to run games on at least default-medium settings at my 1900x1200 moniter.
I am also aware i need at least a 500-600 power supply.
Basically i am looking for the best gpu that meets my needs and one that my x4 core 2.9 (might overclock)WONT BOTTLENECK!!!!!(Dont plan on upgrading it).
I was interested in the 550ti, will that work?
my budget is $200
thanks.

you would need a upgrade to prevent bottlenecking. and also, you cant put much with that tiny psu

I know my psu is bad, i mentioned i was going to get a 500-600 watt psu. Any other suggestions that 600watt supports. Or will the 7750 work fine? Please consider the 550ti or any other.

id get a xfx 550w psu. generally better than most brands given its made by seasonic.

i dont see the point of a 550ti any more. it performs only a little better than the 7750 yet it uses more than 2x the power.

now since you have a 550w psu, you can pick up this card

if you want to sacrifice some cooling and overclocking capability for more vram, get this. more vram lets you run more anti-alasing effects and higher resolutions.

GTX660 SLI! on quality 600W psu would be awesome~ maybe an Antec HCG-620(M) this even beats a 680~

no that would be stupid given you dont even have 2 x16 slots and that if you are going to run a 660 SLi, you are better off with a 670 given they roughly perform the same once the 670 is overclocked

Ok i guess ill get the 7750. I hear its a lot cool and does draw more than 200w at load. I hope it doesnt bottleneck too much. A little would be ok but too much is what i
fear.

But will it deliver the performance compared to the 550ti? :fou:
