I would choose a 7870 over the 660.

I'm gonna go with the 660 here. He plans on playing AC3 and the GTX660 comes with one, that's a bonus. Plus, AC3 runs faster on Nvidia cards vs their respective counterparts from AMD

In BF3 or Skyrim however, they pretty much trade blows. You really can't go wrong with either. I only recommend the 660 because it comes with AC3 so you don't have to spend more money on the game afterwards

i got my AC3 (and got AC2 also which i wasnt expecting) with my game coupon. I didnt have to send in for the coupon they gave it to me at the store, an MSI promotion.

Depending on which review you read, both cards are close enough to call it a draw, so it basically comes down to personal preference.
