Having a computer painted.

I currently have a CaseLabs Merlin SM8 case. [www.caselabs-store.com/merlin-sm8/]

I have recently been flirting with the idea of having it painted by a professional.

I'm thinking about either having painted a glossy black or a maroon color.

I was also thinking that I would get it powder coated but thats not set in stone as I know little about different paint types.

Does anyone have any experience having their case painted professionally?

About how did it cost?

I would have the top, both side panels and the front panel painted as well as a 5.25in cover and 3 120mm fan "flex bays" [http://www.caselabs-store.com/fan-mount-flex-bay/]

I wouldn't be painting the inside of the case at all.

The dimensions of the case are: 22.44"H x 11.18"W x 22.38"D (570mm x 284mm x 568mm)

There's a few custom shops I know of that will paint rigs but as far as cost goes there's no real way to estimate that.

what's wrong with powder coat? just thicker which might cause some problems but overall more durable. and I WOULD paint the inside.

I have nothing against powder coat what-so-ever. I just wasn't sure if that was the correct route to take.

I may end up painting the inside but I'm going to start with the easily removable/replacable outer shell first.

get your painter to hit it with baking soda to clean off the old paint and to "roughin" up the inside so the paint will stick........ all in one deal. inside and out.
