Hi there,

I have Call of Duty on my PC, and just a wee while ago noticed something
very weird. I ran my desktop cleanup wizard for the first time in
months, and noticed afterwards when I went to play Call of Duty all my
graphics and sound settings had been reset to the lowest levels of
quality, and some mouse settings had also been altered. I can change
these back to my preferences while in the game, but if I quit and then
load the game again all the settings have reset back to the lowest
settings again. If I do a system restore to the point before I did the
desktop cleanup then everything is fine, but every time I redo the
desktop cleanup the problem reoccurs. I suppose the solution would be
to just not run the desktop cleanup, but hoping maybe someone has maybe
an incling of what on earth is happening here !? :)

Thanks in advance if anyone has a clue about this lol

Hi Scott,

Perhaps it's not the Cleanup Wizard itself, but something else that changes on
the system in the same frame as the Cleanup Wizard. To be certain, try going
back through System Restore again and immediately disable the Wizard.

To disable the Desktop Cleanup Wizard:
Right Click your Desktop and select Properties
Click the Desktop Tab
Click Customize Desktop button
Uncheck Run Desktop Cleanup ... checkbox
Click OK
