PC Freeze - hard reset.

My PC is occasionally freezing, and requires a hard reset, when I am working in AfterEffects CS6 on one monitor and watching VLC movies or ABC iview (web on demand service) on the other.

I have run memcheck, updated BIOS and drivers and been monitoring my gpu with GPU-Z. none of these have show errors or spikes of any kind prior to a crash.

I've googled and looked around before asking.

any advice is welcome, thank you for your time.

CPU: i7-3930k 3.2 GHz
MB: Sabertooth X79
RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator DDR3
HDD: OCZ - Vertex 3 128GB
GPU: Gigabyte GTX580 3GB
PSU: Corsair TX 950w

Attached to my USB ports are:

Wacom Intuos 4, Razor Mouse, Galaxy Nexus dock, usb 3 external HD

Have you tried just running the system drive with all other HDDs unplugged? Also, have you tried running with a single stick of ram?
