I am looking at building a HTPC to replace my SKy+ box and would like to have other people review by choices of parts.

The only requirement is that I can view and record channels at the same time and that I can play digital films that I have. I am trying to keep the costs low but I do want to future prove the system as much as I can.

Silverstone Grandia GD04 Desktop Case
Intel Core i3-3225
Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H
4GB Corsair Valueselect DDR3-1333 CL9

WD Caviar Green 2TB Sata 6Gb/s
be quiet! Pure Power 350 Watt / BQT L7

TBS6280 -T2 Dual TV Tuner
TBS6981 DVB-S2 Dual Tuner

Windows 7 home premium

Any advice will be greatfully received

Thanks

Looks good to me. Make sure you get 2x2GB and not 1x4GB for the RAM. You could add a small OS SSD to that and it would be very quick in starting up. Also, a Bluray drive would complete that build nicely.

Hi diellur,
Thanks for the advice regarding the RAM. I was going to get a DVD/BluRay compo drive so that I can still play the kids DVDs until I manage to rip them. I am hoping to build a NAS and move the harddrive to it and place it with a smaller drive in the htpc :D
