Realtek 8111e onboard lan not connected

Hey guys.
I've looked throught the net on a fix for my problems but have found none so hopefully you know whats wrong.
Earlier today i bought a new setup.

ASUS P8Z68-V LX
i5 2500k
Kingston HyperX 1600
Corsair Force 90GB ssd
ASUS GeForce GTX 560
OS: Win7

Everything works fine except the onboard lan doesn't work.

Windows shows that there is no cable connected even though it is connected and it works. Currently I'm using the cable to write this on my laptop so that's proof that it indeed works. The bios settings for the adapter are set to enabled. I have tried the weird stuff, like unplugging for 30 min and starting again and reseting bios and holding the powerbutton for 10 sec with powercable unplugged.

The cable shows that it's connected when i set speed and duplex at 10MB/s, full or half duplex, and I can ping the router but the internet eludes me.

There has been no thunderstorm in the last 23 hours, I have tried the latest lan drivers from both Realtek and ASUS, there has been no windows update to mess with the system and I've tried formatting and setting up windows again.
Any ideas?

I have the same MB and CPU models and the identical problem. If you find the solution I'd love to hear it... at this point I may be buying a separate ethernet card.

I didn't find a solution and I bought a new ethernet card. It works so it's probably a faulty hardware.
