Speaker Problem

Hi,

So for some reason, when I started my computer and speakers up one day, they wouldn't play any sound. When I plug them into my ASUS motherboard, they are detected, and can play any sound that the integrated sound program can play. But, using YouTube videos and windows media player, I cannot play any sound. All the speakers are unmuted, both physically and electronically.

Please help?
