Replace vga receptacle hardware?

I got a minor shock holding my monitor cable (computer was on) while touching a bare light socket (round plastic cap is lost) while trying to reconnect the monitor. Now there's an error "check monitor cable"- is it possible I fried the vga receptacle? Are those replaceable?

vga cables are there about 12.00 on newegg. jest order the right cable.. male to male..male to female. i would turn your pc off and check for bent pins first. if there are none i would power off and use the cmos clear jumper..if it still and issue you may have zap your video card or monitor.
