How can I reinstall Microsoft money from my restore cd?

somewhere along the line my money 2004 upgraded to 2006 and now I have a new computer. Installed 2004 software and trying to backup with a 2006 restored file. go through all the steps and get "restoration stopped you will get error message shortly and never do,

Pretty sure you're going to need to get back to having 2006 or later version of Money installed.

Later software can usually work with earlier data.
But most of the time it older software working with newer data sets (2004 program working with 2006 data files, for example) is a problem.

Windows 7 Compatibility Center > Software > Microsoft Money
