Alright well i don't know if I should sell my laptop for a graphics card. This Laptop is Pretty much useless with Low Specs.

i.e. Intel Pentium 2.0 ghz processor
4GB DDR3 ram
14 inch LED Glare Display
500gb HDD
Intel HD Graphics

So, i am more of a gamer and i REALLY want to future proof my desktop and i dont really need this laptop.

Desktop specs:

19 inch dell Monitor ( 1366 X 768) (60Hz rr)
COOLER MASTER THUNDER 500W PSU
ASUS M5A78LMX V2 MOTHERBOARD
AMD FX 4100 ( 4.6GHZ)
COOLERMASTER HYPER TX3 EVO COOLER
6GB DDR3 RAM
EVGA SUPERCLOCKED GEFORE GTX 550TI
500GB HARD DISK
COOLER MASTER 310 CABINET

Its a 720$ mid level gaming desktop and I get about 30-40fps in most of the games such as Absolution, AC3, la noire ( 28fps) spec ops( 55fps) me3( 35fps)

SO in your opinion should i sell this Latop for 255 dollars ? (Theres one guy who wants to buy it for 255$)

Will it be of any help in upgrading my PC?

Please Help asap

I don't trust Coolermaster PSU's. I have had one to many pop on me.
Antec, Seasonic, Corsair.

I think to sell or not selling your laptop would be your own concern. You are the only one who knows the whole situation you face now. Wether you need the money (obtained from selling your laptop) badly, or you have enough money but just can't leave that "sleeping" laptop alone, it's all your decision to make.

However, i do have a suggestion about your gaming PC coming up. I saw that you pick a considerably mid end components, where we can make a few adjustment and save 50 - 60 buck for a roughly same performance. Or at the same price, but gain a significant performance boost. These are:

Using AMD Athlon II X4 640 ( 3,0 Ghz) other than FX 4100: you save up to $30
Albeit it lower stock core frequencies than FX 4100, Athlon II X4 640 is cheaper and slightly faster too. Or you could grab Phenom II X4 965 for $5 less than FX, but got an even better performance.

Using Asus HD 7750 DDR5 other than EVGA SUPERCLOCKED GEFORE GTX 550TI: You save up to $30
These cards, roughly, perform at a same level, but with a $30 (approximately) differences. If you lock the EVGA's price point, you'll get Asus HD 7770 Ghz Edition.

hope this help..

note: i use newegg.com as the pices comparison.

I agree with irwan on the laptop dilemma. Its really up to you whether you feel its worth it for you to sell the laptop. I feel the price he is asking is fair and I think it gives you money to improve on your desktop.

I also agree with ground, there are just some brands where you know unless you pay for a higher end product you aren't going to receive quality brands like raidmax, rosewill, and Cooler Master. Seasonic based power supply units you will find are preferred by those who normally suggest things on the forums there are other power supplies that are good sure but those are the quality assured ones. Also, keep in mind that not all lineups for each brand are Seasonic based your CX power supplies from Corsair are not Seasonic but TX,HX, and AX lines are with the exception of the digital ran units.

In terms of a Graphics card upgrade I would towards the GTX660 or the 7850 as your processor may be a limiting factor going beyond the cards I've suggested. I have a link for the the pricing of the 7850, and the GTX660.

If you want a reference card: EVGA with Nvidia, Aftermarket ASUS, and MSI
for AMD, Sapphire, MSI, and ASUS.
