I can't go to that site since I am in my office, so I can't check the price. But it is only ATA 66

ATA 66 is a bit slower is it? Should I look for an ATA100?

not. because its an ATA66 & not an ATA100 hd.

moreover the 9ms average access time is a little to great.
8-8.5 ms is preferable for a new ide hd.

moreover the price diff is minor.


if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy.

theoretically ATA66, 66MB max throughput, ATA100 100MB max throughput.

for real perfs i think its around 5-15% diff. its depend of your ATA100 hd choice.

CompUSA was running a CompuUSA 80 gig hard drive that was actually just a maxtor 540dx for 89.00.....I consider that a better deal than this.
